Neptune Spear is a Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC), a national nonprofit youth leadership development program. We serve Martin, Saint Lucie, and Indian River Counties, and are located in Port St. Lucie, FL. We are young unit, established only a few years ago and we were the first and are still the only unit on the Treasure Coast. Our Sea Cadets are young men and women aged 10 through the completion of high school who choose adventure, seek challenges, and step outside of their comfort zones. Our unit currently has 30 cadets, both male and female, enrolled and is rapidly growing. The mission of the Sea Cadets program is to build leaders of character to serve in our communities.
Our culture encourages self discipline, service to others, accountability, and patriotism. At young ages, our cadets are given leadership opportunities within the unit by staffing summer training events, planning unit drill sessions, and teaching others. We are the ONLY youth development program that is cadet led and adult supervised. Our rigorous “Sea Cadet Experience” teaches cadets to think on their feet, work as a team, and live a life dedicated to cultivating values of honor, respect, commitment, and service. A donation to our unit helps us reach more youth, provide valuable hands-on training for cadets, support unit team building activities, and helps us provide up to date STEM opportunities. All of these help to achieve our mission to build leaders of character for our community.
