Join us during our 100th Centennial Celebration to purchase our Delicious Coffee to support the Count Basie Center’s endowment and arts education programs.
The Basie Center’s Centennial Celebration will celebrate the nonprofit organization, which started 100 years ago with the birth of its historic theater at 99 Monmouth Street. In 1926, the historic theater opened as a venue for vaudeville acts and feature films. Originally named the Carlton Theatre, it was renamed the Monmouth Arts Center in 1973, before becoming the Count Basie Theatre in 1984 and ultimately the Count Basie Center for the Arts in 2018.
Today, the Basie Center organization consists of two venues – the historic theater and The Vogel – and the Turner Academy of the Arts and the Basie Center Conservatory Of Music, both of which reside within the Basie Center’s Grunin Arts Education Building. In addition, the Basie Center organization operates Basie Center Cinemas, community theatre company Phoenix Productions, the Count Basie Center Gospel Choir and more.
To mark this extraordinary milestone, the Basie Center will host a series of programs and special events that will highlight the buildings century-long dedication to the performing arts, pay tribute to the legendary acts that have performed on that stage, and reaffirm the Basie's commitment to its mission-based community partnerships.
For every bag of coffee or hot chocolate sold at $15, the organization receives $5 to help support the Basie Center and its music programs and educational services. All coffees are packaged in a "Burlap Bag" for your keepsake and reuse during this special celebration.
Your purchase also supports Bridging the Gap for Veterans, a nonprofit 501C3 organization with programs and services supporting the military community with careers, scholarships and our veteran pet adoption program.
